Overviews: 3 day tours from Marrakech to Merzouga
DAY 1: MARRAKESH TO DADES GORGE
Our amazing trip begins from your stay in Marrakech. We’re off to see some special places in Morocco, starting with Ait Banhaddou Kasbah.
As we go, you’ll see the stunning Atlas mountains through Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest road in Morocco at 2260m high. It offers beautiful views of valleys, oasis, mountains, and little Berber villages. We’ll stop for you to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, filled with small Berber villages.
We’ll reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This kasbah was important to the Glaoui family from the 16th to the 17th century and has been featured in movies like “Jesus of Nazareth”. We’ll have lunch here to enjoy the historic setting.
After relaxing, we move on to Ouarzazate to see the historic Kasbah of Taourirt. Then, we visit the Valley of Roses, a sea of roses to see.
Finally, after passing small Berber villages in Skoura, we’ll stop at Boumalene Dades. Here, you’ll have a traditional dinner and stay overnight in a local Riad.
DAY 2: DADES GORGE TO MERZOUGA DESERT
Starting with breakfast in Boumalene, we head to today’s highlight, the Merzouga Desert. On the way, we’ll stop at Todra Gorges, the tallest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, known globally as one of the most impressive canyons. After a peaceful visit, we’ll continue to Rissani to try traditional Berber pizza for lunch.
Feeling refreshed, we’ll move towards Merzouga. Upon arrival, camels will take you through the stunning sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll enjoy a memorable sunset ride on the camels in the Sahara.
Then, the camels will bring you to our traditional camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner and Berber music under the stars, spending the night in a nomadic tent.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT BACK TO MARRAKESH
After a peaceful night, wake up early to catch a breathtaking sunrise in the desert. Enjoy breakfast, then camel ride back to the hotel for a shower.
We’ll head back through Ouarzazate, stopping for lunch in the friendly town of Nkob. We’ll pass the beautiful Draa Valley on the way. In Ouarzazate, known for its unique landscapes and film history, we’ll visit the famous Kasbah of Taourirt and Ait-Ben-Hadou, a site of many famous films like “Gladiator”.
Then, we’ll travel back through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the Atlas mountains, enjoying the beautiful landscapes one last time.
Finally, we return to Marrakech, where our unforgettable journey ends.
